The 1998 Giro d'Italia was the 81st edition of the Giro d'Italia, one of cycling's Grand Tours. The Giro began on May 16 with a brief prologue that navigated through the streets of the French city Nice. The race came to a close on June 7 with a mass-start stage that ended in the Italian city of Milan.
